The answer is Tim Kerr. During the 1984-85 season Kerr scored 6 hat tricks, the 3rd through 8th of his career. 4 of them were against the Washington Capitals, 1 against the St Louis Blues and 1 in the playoffs against the New York Rangers. He scored 10 goals against Caps goalie Pat Riggin that season alone. For the season Kerr scored 54 goals, added 44 assists for 98 points.
